Nothing Phone 3 release date and pricing

Although it has teased the phone for the past few months, Nothing officially revealed the Phone 3 on 1st July 2025. The Phone 3, available in two colours, is available to pre-order from the 4th July 2025 ahead of its official release from the 15th July 2025.

At Nothing calls the Phone 3 a “true flagship”, it’s perhaps unsurprising that it has a flagship-level price to match. With a starting RRP of £799 / $799 / €799, the Phone 3 matches the likes of iPhone 16 and Galaxy S25, however it’s worth noting that this is for a 12GB and 256GB handset.

Nothing Phone 3 design

As predicted, Phone 3 retains the iconic foundations of a Nothing handset but with a few important additions. Firstly, Nothing has reimagined the Glyph Interface which was first introduced with the Phone 1, with the Glyph Matrix instead. Essentially, Glyph Matrix is a disc made up of 489 LEDs found at the rear and shows you certain notifications in Nothing’s dot-matrix style.

Also introduced with the Phone 3 is Glyph Toys, a suite of tools such as Digital Clock, Battery Indicator, Stopwatch and more, found within the Glyph Matrix too. There’s also the Glyph Button which, after an OTA update in July, will allow you to check caller ID without needing to turn your phone around.

Otherwise, the Phone 3 sports a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 1260 x 2800 resolution, 4500 nits of peak brightness and an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate too. While the resolution falls short of some of the best Androids, the 4500 nits of brightness is a huge increase from the Nothing Phone 2 which maxed out at just 1600 nits.

Speaking of its screen, the Phone 3 features 1.87mm bezels which is also 18% slimmer than its predecessor too which promises a more immersive viewing experience.

As should be expected with flagship smartphones, Phone 3 also sports an IP68 dust and water resistance rating too.

The Phone 3 is fitted with three rear lenses which are all 50MP, an improvement over the dual set-up of the Phone 2. There’s the main sensor which Nothing promises should let in up to 44% more light than its predecessor, an ultrawide which offers a 114° point of view and a periscope with 6x lossless zoom and 60x AI Super Res Zoom.

Flip the phone over and you’ll find a 50MP selfie snapper which Nothing suggests is ideal for vloggers as it offers “crisp video and exceptional stabilisation”.

Nothing Phone 3 performance and AI

Although it doesn’t sport Qualcomm’s premium Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, the Phone 3 instead opts for the mid-range Snapdragon 8s Gen 4. While we’re yet to review the processor ourselves, we think it looks set to be a “game-changer for the mid-range smartphone market”.

Nothing states that the use of Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 will provide “significant enhancements in multitasking, image processing, and graphics handling compared to Phone 2” with a 125% boost in AI processing speed.

In fact, AI is undoubtedly a focus of the Phone 3, especially as it sports the Essential Key. First introduced with the Phone 3a, the Essential Key opens Nothing’s AI-powered Essential Space which is an app that processes images, audio and text that you save. AI then analyses and categorises your content into one handy space.

There’s also the introduction of Essential Search which works as a universal smart search bar, allowing you to receive instant answers to any question you ask.

Sure, Nothing’s AI tools aren’t as comprehensive as the likes of Galaxy AI or even Apple Intelligence, but it’s undoubtedly a step in the right direction.

Nothing Phone 3 battery life

Although the Phone 2 offered a decent all-day battery life, it was still expected that the Phone 3 would improve upon it. With a 5150mAh battery, Nothing promises the Phone 3 will keep going “well past a full day” although it doesn’t elaborate on the exact amount of hours you can expect.

It also supports 65W wired and 15W wireless fast charging too, but again Nothing is yet to share how long these speeds can actually provide.
